Carl ZEISS Trinocular StereoZOOM Optical System

The ZEISS trinocular optical system comes with 10x eyepieces for 6.5x - 50x magnification and a wide viewing field for objects up to 36mm. A further set of 16x eyepieces for a unique ZOOM magnification range in Gemmology of 10x – 80x is also included.

LED Dark Field Illuminator

The dark field illuminator light source is an innovative high contrast LED system with a lighting power equivalent to a 35 Watt incandescent halogen lamp. Lifetime is about 20,000 hours. It is flicker free and has a non-noise digital power supply.

Despite the high LED lighting power the Cool-Touch® technology makes sure the microscope stage stays cool. The temperature at the stage never exceeds 25°C/77°F (room temperature).

The dark field LED illumination has an electronic dimming control, so the light colour remains steady, while incandescent get yellow/red tinted.
A concentric reflector system illuminates authentically with highest contrast and mountable diffusor sheet.

Dark Field Light Colour

First time in gem microscopy the choice of three colours of dark field light as a unique feature: 4,500 Kelvin neutral daylight is standard, optional 5,000K daylight or 3,500K incandescent light colour is available.
Different gemstones may need different light:

  • Diamonds & coloured stones: neutral-white 5,000 Kelvin
  • Traditional warm-white: 3,500 Kelvin

For comparison: a tungsten/incandescent lamp has about 3,000 Kelvin.

Change from dark field to bright field by swivelling baffle selector.

Digital Camera Adapter

For digital microscope photography the set includes a special full-size image optical adapter for your digital camera e.g. NIKON, CANON or OLYMPUS. Simply give us the brand and type of your digital camera and we will choose the correct adaption mount for you.

VARIOFOC Interchangeable LED System

LED spotlights at gooseneck are the perfect successor for fibre optic light guides: Versatile in their application and easily exchangeable to different beam spreads and colour of light.


USB Ports

One USB port at each side of the stage for additional LED coldlight pin-pointer and/or LED overhead lamp. Good for other USB plug & play accessories as well. No data transmission!

Ergonomic Features

The stage is ergonomically designed for a comfortable wrist and finger position.  

The base can be tilted up to 42° for the most comfortable user position with any optical system.
Adapter use for iris diaphragm as tweezer support.

The high dark field spot makes quick microscopy by finger handling of mounted stones easy.

Innovative MAGNETIC CLICK stone holder system with magnetic socket at each side of the stage for right- or left-hand use. Extra ring holder to be clamp on stone holder.

Precise focus adjustment by turning focus knobs. Focussing column designed and manufactured by LEICA.
